Development and series implementation
of the entire aircraft interior
Our cooperation with the Austrian aircraft manufacturer Diamond Aircraft started in 2017 with which was then the most modern twin-engine aircraft on the market. Since then, the fully integrated tannery in Wollsdorf has been producing the surface leather for the entire interior of the five- and seven-seater DA62. We use our standard Ambassador aircraft leather and our Amba Eco lightweight leather, which we developed specifically for aircraft. Our cutting and sewing plant in Varaždin (Croatia) uses this leather to produce the interior, which usually consists of seating systems, trim parts and carpets.

About Diamond Aircraft
Diamond Aircraft is an Austrian aircraft manufacturer with production facilities in Canada and China. Since its founding in 1981 a pioneer with numerous aviation premieres, Diamond Aircraft is today a leading manufacturer in general aviation. Together with more than 1,000 staff, the company develops and produces a wide range of certified piston aircraft models.

This was followed by the new development and series orders for the models DA50 RG, DA42-VI, DA62 MPP, DART as well as refurbishment projects.
Since 2020, we have also been supplying Diamond Aircraft Canada with finished leather seats and all trim parts for the DA62. In 2021, a new model was added: the single-engine DA50 RG. We also developed this new project together with the customer right from the start. We supply the interior version: Standard, ‘Diamond Premium’ and ‘Diamond Select’ with three leather colours each and six different stitching colours.
Which leather is used?
We use our standard aircraft leather Ambassador and our lightweight leather Amba Eco in embossed and smooth design. The leather is additionally equipped with our SPS finish – Surface Protection System – which both reduces the adhesion of dirt and makes it easier to clean the leather.

Project implementation using the example of the DA50 RG
Development of components – sewing of seat covers – leather covering of components
For the carbon seat shells provided by the customer, seat covers are made from our leather and the seat shells are leathered. For the substructure, various foams are mounted and assembled on the shells. The complete set of carpets for the DA50 RG includes a total of 18 individual parts, which are cut, edged, and supplemented with Velcro fasteners, various brackets, and loops. For a total of 36 trim pieces, the carrier parts are also provided by the customer. These are then underlaid by us with foam and spacer fabrics and subsequently covered with mainly multi-part and sewn together leather, Alcantara or fabric dresses.
